Crochet Two Finger Squid Puppet Pattern

Squid Puppet Pinnable

Materials:

-Size G Hook for little fingers, or size H Hook for bigger fingers

-Simply Soft Yarn in “Pagoda”

-Large Plastic Embroidery Needle

-Buttons or plastic safety eyes

Abbreviations:

-Magic Circle = Tutorial

-Ch = Chain

-Sc = Single Crochet

-Dc = Double Crochet

-Sl St = Slip Stitch

-St = Stitch

-Dec = Decrease

Crochet Squid Head and Tentacles:

(to be worked in one continuous round: do not sl st each row, just work in a spiral)

Round 1: Magic Circle, Dc 4 (4)

Round 2: 2 dc in each st (8)

Round 3: *1 Dc in first st, 2 Dc in next st. Repeat from * around (12)

Round 4: *1 Dc in first 2 sts, 2 Dc in next st. Repeat from * around (16)

Round 5: *1 Dc in first 3 sts, 2 Dc in next st. Repeat from * around (20)

Round 6: *1 Dc in first 4 sts, 2 Dc in next st. Repeat from * around (24)

Round 7-9: 1 Dc in each st. (24)

Round 10: *Dec over the next 2 sts. Repeat from * twice. 1 Dc in the next 6 sts. Repeat from * three times. 1 Dc in next 6 sts. (18)

Round 11: 1 Dc in first st, *Dec over next two sts. Repeat from * once. 1 Dc in next 5 sts. Repeat from * twice. 1 Dc in next 4 sts. (14)

Round 12: *Ch 12, 3 Dc in 3rd st from hook, sc in next st and in each st back to the body. Sl st in next 3, repeat from * once. Sl st in next 2, repeat from * once. Sl st in next 3, repeat from * once.  Sl st in next st, fasten off and weave in ends.

The Two Finger Puppet Base Leg:

(make two, work in a continuous round)

Round 1: Magic Circle, Dc 4.

Round 2: 2 Dc in each st.

Rounds 3-8: 1 Dc in each st.

(set the legs next to each other and work 1 row all the way around the outside of the 2 legs as illustrated)
